Just remembered a couple of things that those of you who have recently retired or plan to soon might be interested to know. I have discovered that my car insurance went down because I no longer use it to go to and from work. It is now considered to be used for pleasure!!
My other big surprise was that the interest and finance charges on my credit card were not charged for 4 months because I retired. All of your payment applies to principle for those 4 months.

I retired at 55 also and though it felt a bit disconcerting at first, I loved being able to travel and have more time for my children and grandchild. It's wonderful!
